SARKA, John Michael – Of Grand Blanc, age 94, died Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Oaks at Woodfield.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Visitation 5-8pm Friday, June 6, 2025 at the funeral home.

Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery
John was born in Saginaw, Michigan on February 15, 1931, the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Ignace) Sarka. On May 14, 2007, he married Juanita in Toledo, Ohio. John was a Jobsetter for 38 years at Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant and was a member of UAW Local #659. John served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, Bible study, Detroit Tigers, U of M Football, Detroit Lions, Hungarian cooking. Above all else, John enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are daughters, Kathryn (Richard) Hundley of Ada, MI, Sheree (Richard) Harrison of Sun City West, AZ, and Deanna (Alan) Hagenstein of Fenton, MI;
Grandchildren, Angela (Chad) Lloyd, Jason (Laura) Harrison, Nicholas (Tammy) Harrison, Matthew (Alexis) Harrison, Tristan Hagenstein, Keinan (Lauren) Hagenstein, Elan Hagenstein;
Great-grandchildren, Meghan Lloyd, Brooklyn Lloyd, Nicholas Lloyd, Ava Harrison, Drew Harrison, Beau Harrison, Victoria (Kelly) Markaity (Kelly), Lorin Cifani, Wyatt Harrison, Colton Harrison and Jack Harrison;
Step-children, Douglas (Marie) McGlashen, Janice (Russell) Brown, Donald McGlashen, Judy (Gary) Walton, Dennis (Venus) McGlashen, Gloria (Eric) Gillen, Robert Gallardo and fiancée, Alisa Elston, Sonya (Don) Konieczka;
And several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Sarka, mothers of his children, Lillian Limban and Dorothy Sarka and sister, Margaret Lewis.
