MURPHY, Charles J. – of Davison, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Honoring Charley’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
Charley was born in Grand Rapids, MI on November 21,1935, son of the late A.E. and Estelle (Hans) Murphy. He moved to Davison as a child. Charley married June Jenkins on October 26, 1963, in Davison. He worked for GM, retiring from Fisher Body. In his spare time, Charley was an avid deer hunter, never missing a hunting season until recently. He also loved to golf. He lived many years at Davison Golf Crest Estates, overlooking the Davison Country Club golf course. Charley was a faithful member at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison, where he attended Mass every week. He will long be remembered for his great sense of humor that kept the family laughing whenever they got together. Charley will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Charley is survived by his loving wife, June Murphy; several nephews and nieces; many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Charley was preceded in death by sister, Mary Lou Murphy; two brothers, William and Thomas Murphy.
