WENDLING, Susie – of Davison, age 82, passed away on April 5, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. Interment will take place following the service in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Susie was born in Flint on January 27, 1943, daughter of the late John and Sarah (Council) Hefley. She married Ron Wendling on February 13, 1990. He preceded her in death in 1995. Susie worked in customer service for Citizens Bank in Flint. She retired at the young age of 53 to care for her husband. Her greatest achievement was raising her 3 loving children as a single mother. Susie was very outgoing, vibrant and had a presence that was bigger than life. Rooms will feel smaller without her there. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with friends at the Davison VFW and the Davison Eagles, where she could be found singing karaoke. Susie was an avid U of M football fan and loved watching the Detroit Tigers. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. Her grandchildren knew her as “Crazy Grandma” and she loved that title.
Susie is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Michael) Walker and Kimberly (Andrew) Pastue; grandchildren, Megan Walker, Madison Walker, Sarah Pastue, Ally Pastue; sister, Luellen Marcum;
and many friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Mann; grandson, Alexander Mann; sisters, Lori Hefley and Lisa Hefley.
