Charles Harvey Davis, of Flushing, passed away on July 5, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. He was 81.
Born September 4, 1943, he was one of two sons of Charles and Elsie (Werner) Davis of Flint, MI. Charles graduated from Flint Central High School, class of '62. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country from 1964-1968. During this time he married the love of his life Penny Diane Samples, on March 26, 1966 in Rapid City, South Dakota. He retired in 1999 from Ameritech/AT&T where he was an Outside Plant Technician for 25 years. He loved to travel in his 5th wheel with his wife and friends, those adventures took them to nearly every state. He loved building things from scratch, fixing and tinkering with things around the house. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends and had a love for animals. He loved to make people laugh and smile, and was the "King" of dad jokes the cornier the better in fact, nothing made him happier than being silly and hearing his grandkids laughing.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Davis of Flushing, MI, Kristie Rodgers and husband Thomas of Traverse City, MI; son, Shaun Davis and wife Tricia of Fowlerville, MI; brother, Terry Davis and wife Nancy of Lennon, MI; two granddaughters, Madelyn Rodgers, Kaylie Davis; grandson, Christopher Davis; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by Wife, Penny Diane Davis, Father, Charles Howard Davis, Mother, Elsie Davis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9th from 4-7pm at Sharp Funeral Homes,Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek, MI 48473.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10th at 11:00 am at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473.
Burial will take place in the Great Lakes National Cemetery .
