Michelle Lynette Smith was born September 25, 1968, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of James Smith Sr. and the late Irene Smith.
Michelle has been a long-standing citizen of Flint, Michigan. She has been a member of Greater Emanuel Temple for 35 plus years. She had a love for Christ that a lot of people dream of having. She was a graduate of Zimmerman Adult Education. Due to her health issues she was unable to gain employment in the industrial environment but maintained employment at various assisted living homes. She had a heart of platinum. She would take a great percentage of her paycheck and walk through downtown Flint and feed the homeless. She had the kind of morals and values that would change the world if people would practice them!
Michelle leaves to cherish her memory, 2 children: son, Jerry Jerome (Amber) Ormond; daughter, Johannah J. Powell all of Flint, MI; 2 grandchildren, Tre’vonn Jerome Ormond and Aaliyah Marie Ormond both of Flint, MI; father, James Standard Smith Sr. of Dubach, LA; 7 sisters, Chrystal Woods of Detroit, MI, Evelyn Woods of Sterling Heights, MI, Kim (Elbert) Ellis and Angela (Kenneth) Stewart all of Union Springs, AL, Zena Woods and Gail L. Bailey both of Flint, MI and Candace (Paul) Leggette of Detroit, MI; 3 brothers, James Standard (Chrystal) Smith Jr. of Battle Creek, MI, Fredrick Neil (Chinetta) Smith of Flint, MI and Jason Lamont Smith of Dubach, LA; a host of nieces including, Janaya L. Smith, Tationna M. Hill, Jamesha S. Smith, Ayrianna Alyees Smith, Kamarriona Ariel Monae Wingfield, Starr Lee, Shawn (Willie) English and Laquesha Smith; a host of nephews including, James S. Smith III, Dai’Quan D. Barber-Smith, Malik C. Smith, Sincere J. Wingfield-Smith, Imir J. Smith, Fredrick N. Smith Jr., Noah N. Leeper-Smith and Jayceon N. Warren; several aunts including, Catherine (LC) McLilly and Lucille (Jimmy) Edwards all of Flint, MI; several uncles including, Alan and Robert Smith both of LA, James Smith of Detroit, MI and JP Ford of Flint, MI; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including Martha Day and Shiela (Lee) Mosley.
Michelle was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Smith; grandparents, Dan (Willie Bee) Ford and John (Hattie) Smith; and a host of aunts and uncles.
