WARD, Nancy L. - Age 90, of Gaines, died Monday October 19, 2020. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 23 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Father Louis Ekka Celebrant. Burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 4PM-8PM on Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with a Rosary being prayed at 7PM. Visitation will also be held 10AM until time of Mass at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the North End Soup Kitchen. Nancy was born April 19, 1930 in Flint, the daughter of Adelbert and Iva (LaDue) Leonard. She married Russell Ward on February 3, 1951 in Flint and he preceded her in death on September 5, 2013. Nancy enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and crocheting, She was a great seamstress, making clothing for all her children. Nancy especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are: children, Christine (David) Dunn of Flint, David (Thelma) Ward of TX, Elizabeth Hannah of GA, Janice (Ken) Talhelm of IN, Thomas (JoEllen) Ward of IN, Nancy Joann Ward of FL, Patricia (George) Helou of Shelby Twp., Laura (Tim) Snooks of Osseo MI, James (Marcia) Ward of Gaines, Timothy (Joann) Ward of IN, Joseph (Evela) Ward of IN, Michael Ward of Durand. She was also survived by her 29 grandchildren, 41 great grand children and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell, parents Adelbert and Iva Leonard; daughter-in-law, Sande Ward and Son-in-law, Brian Hannah. Tributes may be shares at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
