CHOATE, James Randolph Jr. – of Burton, age 77, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM Monday, September 18, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. The family will receive visitors from 4:30 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
James was born in Flint, Michigan on December 22, 1945, son of the late James Randolph and Margaret (Turnbull) Choate. He retired from General Motors in 2007 after 36 years of service. James enjoyed playing cards with his friends. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Jim absolutely loved western shows and loved spending time with his family and friends at his cabin.
James is survived by 2 children, James (Tiffany) Choate III and Rebecca Choate; 4 grandchildren, Maxwell and Oryan Choate, Sawyer and Sadie Cronkright; brother, Jeffery Choate; sister, Lucinda Bennett; 3 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Mark Choate.
