SCOTT, Phyllis Irene (Shroyer) - of Montrose, passed from this earthly plane Sunday, October 18, 2015 after a brave and mercifully short battle with cancer. She was 80 years of age. A memorial service will be held 11AM Friday, October 23, 2015 at Montrose United Methodist Church. Family will receive visitors at the church from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
Phyllis came into this world August 19, 1935 at her grandparent’s farm in North Star, Michigan; daughter of the late Bernard and Leone (Bickford) Shroyer. She was raised in Ferndale, Michigan. Phyllis met the love of her life, Don Cedric Scott at Michigan State University; they were married September 11, 1954. Don preceded her in death in 1997. Phyllis enjoyed working at the Montrose Historical and Telephone Pioneer Museum and did so until just weeks before her passing. She also enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing piano and loved Yahtzee. Phyllis was an active member of Montrose United Methodist Church for 40 years and loved her church family. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are: 3 children: Donn (Christy) Scott, Danyne (Bob) Campbell and Curtis (Jeannine) Scott; 6 grandchildren: Jessica (Jason) Stilger, Rachael Clark, Ian Scott, Miranda Scott, Duncan Scott and Mackenzie Scott; 2 step-grandchildren: David and Austin Rose; 3 great-grandchildren: Jovie and Edison Stilger, Titus Clark; Brother, Allan Shroyer; Many beloved nieces and nephews.
