RATZA, Richard J. “Bear” – of Flint, MI, age 68, passed away peacefully after a battle with ALS on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Regency at Grand Blanc. A Trisagion Service will be held 2 PM Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Father Matthew-Peter Butrie officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors from 11-2 and 4-7 PM on Monday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association of Michigan or Team Gleason.

Rick was born in Flint, MI on January 13, 1955, son of the late Chester and Ernestine (Ford) Ratza. He married Pamela Pitlanish on October 21, 2012. He was a founding member of Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club Station 247 and served as president. Rick was a Firefighter for 26 years and served as a Captain of Genesee Township Station 2. He loved his grandkids. Rick was a semi-truck driver for many years. He lived his life to serve others.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; children, Jessica (Wayne) Scott, Colin (Kaitlin) Holzman and Nikole Holzman; 11 grandchildren, Kasey and Braydyn Scott, Huayda, Avkhan, Aymen and Ishmael Mansour, Evan, Troy and Olivia Ringle, Lennox Ontiveros, Roen Holzman; siblings, Joann Werner and Mary Ratza; dog, Deebo; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by daughter, Adrienne Ontiveros and brother, Chester Ratza.
