SHERRILL, Linda – of Swartz Creek, formerly of Flint, age 81, died peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Maple Woods Manor. Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Honoring her wishes, cremation will follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 12PM until 8PM and Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
Linda was born August 28, 1943, in Flint, to the late William “Billy” and Betty (Harvey) Geyer. She graduated from Hoover High with the class of 1961 and received her cosmetology license from Bruno School of Hair in Flint. On February 9, 1963, Linda married the love of her life, Thomas Wilson Sherrill, Jr., and together they shared 44 years of marriage and raised two sons, Tom and Todd. Thomas, Jr. preceded her in death in 2007. For several years, Linda worked at Swartz Creek Schools as an aid, but she was most proud of styling senior citizen’s hair at the local nursing homes every Friday. She loved to go bowling, especially with her husband, and she was in a lady’s bowling league for some time. Linda was a spunky, kindhearted woman who knew no stranger and made friends everywhere she went. Her family was her whole world, especially her boys and grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Linda was a bright light in this world and can never be replaced. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Maple Woods Manor and Heart to Heart Hospice for their professionalism, care, and compassion during her final days.
Linda is forever loved by: Children: Thomas Wilson (Katrina) Sherrill III and Todd (Brittany) Sherrill; Grandchildren: Samantha, Keeley (Billy), Thomas IV, Addyson, Maizy, and Jack; Great Grandson, Memphis; Sisters: Vicki (Tom Hannah) Vassalo and Wendy (Mike) Norton; Lifelong friends: Marian Ferrell and Patty Cousins; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Linda was preceded in death by: Husband: Thomas, Jr.; Parents, Billy and Betty; Sister, Judy (John) Havrilla; Many beloved family members. |
