Richard Bartos
Age 74 of Corunna passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 10am Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Michael O'Brien officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bellermine-Flushing. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm with a rosary prayed at 7pm.
Richard was the son of Edward and Agnes (Zubek) Bartos born in Flint on June 29, 1941.
He graduated from Owosso High School, class of 1959 and held degrees from General Motors Institute, Michigan State University and Oakland University.
Richard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren and looked forward to time spent at Higgins Lake and taking everyone out on his boat. Richard was a lifelong farmer and was employed with General Motors as an engineer for 43 years. He enjoyed his golf leagues in Michigan and Arizona, playing pickle ball, bridge and sudoku. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Richard married Peggy Moores in Owosso on August 26, 1961.
Richard is survived by his wife Peggy; children Richard (Sally) Bartos of Davison, Jonathan (Melissa) Bartos of Waynesville, OH and Christopher (Beth) Bartos of Rochester Hills; 6 grandchildren Danielle Bartos, Kristen (Jim) Hodges, Aaron Bartos, Michael Bartos, Bridget Bartos and Brent Bartos; 1 great-grandchild Luke Strak-Bartos; mother-in-law Rosalie Moore; siblings Ken (MaryAnn Hazen) Bartos, Barb (Paul) Chenault and Edward (Patti) Bartos; brother-in-law Tony (Becky) Piper.
He was predeceased by his Father, Edward Bartos, Mother, Agnes Bartos and father-in-law Ervin Moore.
