Margaret C. Parker, 96, of Galesburg, Il. Formerly a treasured member of the Woodhull , Il. Community died Saturday April 23, 2011 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg. Services are 11:00 AM Tuesday at the United Church of Woodhull. Burial is in the Woodhull cemetery. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services Tuesday at the Church where memorials may be left to the United Church, Woodhull Cemetery or Meals on Wheels. She was born June 11, 1914 in New Windsor, Il to Anders and Anna Peterson Carlson. She attended the Streeter school and married Clyde Parker February 28, 1933. He died in 1999.
Margaret was a homemaker and a very active member of the United Church of Woodhull where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was wonderful at sewing, embroidery and especially quilting and active with the Meals On Wheels program. She was an outstanding cook and baker and her chocolate chip cookies are legendary!
Survivors include 3 sisters Ethel Flaherty of Knoxville, Il, Alverna Parker of Rock Island, IL. And Elnora (Olin) Cowser of Woodhull, Il. She was a very special “Aunt” to her many nieces and nephews.
Her parent, husband and 1 brother preceded her in death.
