FLYNN, Edward “Ed” M. of Flushing, age 88, died Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Brian’s House Care Community. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 21 at St. Robert Catholic Church in Flushing. Fr. Anthony Brooks will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 20 at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the Mass. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Ed was born in Merrill, Michigan on August 13, 1931 to Edward J. and Renas (Madden) Flynn. He was married to Maxine Flynn (Phelps) for 56 years. They loved to travel together and visited many places throughout the world. Ed was an avid tennis player and was very active in the Flint Tennis Club and his Tennis Club in Venice, Florida where he spent his winters. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his grandson, Sean Flynn; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Amy, and Abigail Flynn; and siblings, Patrick Flynn and Mary Jane McBain. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, his son Dion and his infant children Edward “Chip”, Jacqueline, and Brian; he was also preceded in death by his brother, Frank Flynn.
