Evelyn Elmyra Spencer, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at McLaren Hospital, with her family by her side. She was born on October 28, 1947, to Gladys Parish and Riley Hamilton.
Evelyn's greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and friends. Whether it was celebrating the holidays, gathering around the table for her favorite card games, or simply enjoying each other's company, she made every moment special. She loved decorating for the holidays with her children and grandchildren, creating countless traditions and memories that will be cherished for generations.
Bingo was a lifelong passion for Evelyn, bringing her joy and many cherished memories with friends and family, especially with her best friend, Dorothy Lambert, with whom she shared laughter and a special bond during bingo nights and casino trips. She was also a proud member of the Lions NAPH Club.
Evelyn is lovingly survived by her sister, Pat Medlock; her daughters, Tina Zelenka, Michele Zelenka, and Marina Nemes; her grandchildren, Justin Nemes, Roseann Zelenka, Joseph Boyd, and Alexander Hawkins, her great-grandchildren, Kayden Russell, Brooklynn Russell, Michael Scaglione, Zoey Riley, and Sadie Riley; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom Spencer, her parents; and several brothers and sisters.
Evelyn will be remembered for the love she shared, the traditions she created, and the countless memories she made with those she loved. Her laughter, kindness, and the joy she brought to every family gathering will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Evelyn will be cremated through Reigle Funeral Home. The family will host a memorial dinner to celebrate her life. The date and time will be announced at a later date. |
