Rosalie ("Rosie") Bohac passed away September 29, 2026.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Fr. Michael O'Brien will be officiating. Rosalie will be laid to rest at Riverside West Cemetery. The family will receive friends at church on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of service.
She was a lifelong resident of Owosso, MI, born October 11, 1938. She married Robert ("Bob") Bohac in 1957 and together, they raised 4 children while building their life on a farm.
Rosie received her undergraduate and masters degrees later in life from Michigan State University and taught for many years at Bryant School in Owosso. She retired in 1999 and went on to work for Rush Township where she served as treasurer.
She enjoyed many activities including gardening, cooking, tole painting, woodcrafts, sewing, embroidering, and quilting.
Rosie was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church where she belonged to the Altar Society which included St. Anne Sewing and St. Jude Guilds, and participated in many funeral lunches.
She was also a member of the ZCBJ Hall, Michigan Education Association, and made weekly visits to Oliver Woods taking home baked cookies and playing dominoes with residents.
She was predeceased by her husband Bob in 2024, and is survived by 4 children. Theresa (Matt) Barnes of Westminster, CO, Tony (Peggy Hinds) Bohac of Owosso, MI, Margie (Steve) Sutherland of Palatine, IL, and Robin (Andy) Kelleher of North Barrington, IL, along with 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
