KRIENKE, Genevieve P. - Of Burton, formerly of California, Beloved, On windy, sunny, color filled, cool November 10th at 15:00 hours; the Creator who gives all life to Mothers, greeted our mother, Genevieve Patrica Jenkins Moran Krienke, to her eternal home in the love which she filled with others whom she encountered; during her 92+ adventurous years of life. For which we will be eternally grateful.
Genevieve was born to Cora Belle Dotson Jenkins and George Jenkins in Trumann, Arkansas February 16, 1921 as one of 10 children; who all preceded her in eternal life. Being born into a family with First Nations (Cherokee) and Irish ancestry, it shaped a most diverse character, that shared the love of the Creator of all, with whom all she encountered. As a late teen she moved to Michigan; attended and graduated with honors, from Baker Business College. She later married the dashing and charismatic John Morrison (Patrick) Moran. With him she was gifted with three children; Thomas Patrick, Chauncey Jerry, and Barbara Jean to carry forth her legacy of love and caring for others. During the raising of her children, she was employed as an executive secretary for Buick Motor Division of General Motors. During that period, she married Walter Krienke and was again gifted with another son, Mathew.
At age 50 she left Buick to embark on a medical career beginning as registered nurse and retiring at age 75 as the hospital administrator.
During that time period, she was named the Business Woman of the Year.
She leaves a legacy of 16 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; 2 great-great-children; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve; as she believe clean water was a human right issue and all Created gifts should be shared with future generations.......
Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament, 6340 Roberta Street, Burton, Father Carl A. Simons officiating on Friday November 15 at 11:30 a.m. with family visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held 12-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m.on Thursday November 14 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
