Betty was born in Flint, MI on May 31, 1924, daughter of the late George and Myrtle (Smythe) Krapohl. Betty married the love of her life, Robert Pendell, on May 29, 1954. Together, they shared a beautiful journey of love and partnership until Robert’s passing on February 21, 2007. Their union was a testament to enduring love, filled with laughter, shared adventures, and deep devotion. Betty spent many dedicated years working at Perry Printing Company in Flint, Michigan, where her work ethic and friendly spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Beyond her career, her faith played a central role in her life. For 20 years, she faithfully attended Colonial Hills Baptist Church, where she found spiritual fulfillment and a loving church community. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life — tending to her vibrant floral and vegetable gardens, enjoying the beauty of nature while camping, and exploring new places through travel. Gospel music filled her home and heart, and her warm hospitality made every family gathering feel like a special celebration. Betty had a remarkable gift for making people feel loved and welcomed. Her good spirit, kind heart, and infectious sense of humor brought comfort and joy to everyone lucky enough to know her. She brought people together with ease, creating a sense of home wherever she went. To know Betty was to be embraced by unconditional love, genuine kindness, and a spirit that could light up a room. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the honor of sharing in her beautiful life.
