It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hele Marie Hodge, age 94, a beloved friend, and advocate for both people and animals. Helen departed this world on Wednesday, April 9, 2025., leaving behind a legacy of compassion and kindness that touched the lives of many.
Born on June 15, 1930, Helen dedicated her life to helping those in need. She had a remarkable ability to see the potential in every being, whether it was a stray animal seeking shelter or a child in need of guidance. Her home was a sanctuary for wayward animals and children alike, where love and acceptance flourished. She believed that everyone deserve a second chance, and she opened her heart and home.
In addition to her nurturing spirit, Helen had a passion for gardening. Her vibrant flower garden was a testament to her dedication and care.
She is survived by her sister; Nora Jean Howard, her children; David Hodge, Carolyn Hodge and Diane Spencer, as well as countless friends and loved ones who were fortunate enough to know her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Hodge, sons; Robert Hodge, Thomas Hodge and Barry Hodge; parents; James and Wilma Howard.
A funeral visitation for Helen will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Road, Flushing, Michigan 48433.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen's memory may be made to The Humane Society of Genesee County, G-3325 S. Dort Hwy., Burton, Michigan 48529 US.
