Sylvia A. Green, 78, of Richardson, TX, formerly of Midland and Saginaw, died Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Methodist Hospital Richardson. She was born December 17, 1938 in Illinois, daughter of the late Hugo and Armeda (Cashion) Liedtke. On August 28, 1959, she married Donald E. Green. He preceded her in death November 1968. Sylvia was a registered nurse and began her career at the Midland Hospital. Although she did not remain in Midland, Sylvia was always a nurse and took great pride in her work. After working in hospitals, Sylvia wanted a change of pace and eventually became a home healthcare nurse until her retirement. Sylvia was a lover of music and found great joy in playing the organ for her church. She was also a hockey fan and enjoyed watching the Detroit Red Wings and travelling to watch her grandson play. Anyone who knew Sylvia knew she had an addiction to Coca-Cola. She was witnessed on more than one occasion to get up in the middle of the night for a can of Coke when most people would have water. Her greatest passion in life was breeding and showing her beloved Dalmatians. Almost every weekend she would pack up her children and the dogs and head to shows across the country. More than anything she loved her children and grandchildren. They gave her such happiness throughout her life.
Sylvia is survived by her two children Christopher (Connie) Green and Christine (John) Beadles as well as her two grandchildren Mikayla and Adam Green.
Funeral services for Sylvia will take place 1 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St. with Pastor Cheryl Geese officiating. Burial will follow in Midland Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. |
