GENTRY, Merle J. “Pete” – Of Swartz Creek, age 88, died Friday, August 1, 2025, at Swank Assisted Living.
Funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 4-8pm Tuesday and 10am Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to Swartz Creek Church of Christ.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Merle was born in Flint, Michigan on September 27, 1936, the daughter of the late Jake and Estelle (McKee) Staley. She graduated from Grand Blanc High School, Class of 1954. On June 11, 1955, she married Charles R. Gentry in Flint, and he preceded her in death on April 5, 2015. Merle was a member of Swartz Creek Church of Christ for many years. She enjoyed gardening, board games and card games. Above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids.
Surviving are sons, Mark and wife Charlene of New Lothrop, Kevin and wife Susan of Indianapolis, IN, Keith of Fayetteville, TN and Eric and wife Carrie of Swartz Creek;
13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
