RUMER, Edward – of Flint, passed away September 8, 2014 at Heartland Healthcare Center – Briarwood. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Our Risen Lord, 4040 Lapeer Rd., Burton. Pastor Susan Lidums officiating. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and 12 PM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Risen Lord Church.
Edward was born in Flint, MI, August 1, 1928, son of the late Bardwell and Alfhild (Hasted) Rumer. He served our country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #16. Edward received a Bachelor’s Degree from U of M Flint, was a member of Our Risen Lord for many years and retired from AC Delphi after many years of service. Edward was dedicated to conservation and cared for our environment.
Edward is survived by his sister, Margo Benmark; nieces and nephews, Stacy, Susan, Ben and Spencer Benmark, Maikayla Josling, Gabriella, Neil, James (Taryn), Lacey and Riley Young. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Stanley Sr. and his nephew, Stanley II.
