KIDD, Robert George – of Caseville, MI, formerly of Davison, MI, age 83, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023, with his loving family by his side. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 12-1 PM Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Bob’s memory.

Bob was born in Flint, MI on August 19, 1940, son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Flood) Kidd. He was a graduate of St. Michael Catholic High School Class of 1958. On September 8, 1962, Bob married Bette Jayne Pearsall at St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint, MI. He retired from General Motors in 1995 after 31 years of service. A faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Bob found solace and strength in his faith. He was a pillar of support for his family and friends, embodying the values of love, compassion, and kindness. Bob had a zest for life and pursued various interests that brought him immense joy. He had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying fishing and hunting, and spent cherished moments with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love for the thrill of the casino, the camaraderie of card games (especially Euchre), and the satisfaction of gardening added rich layers to his vibrant personality. Known for his infectious sense of humor, Bob was a great joke teller, often engaging in playful banter and practical jokes with his twin brother. He was a sports enthusiast who excelled as a slow-pitch softball pitcher, demonstrated prowess on the hockey rink, and showed finesse on the bowling alley. His loyalty to Detroit sports was unwavering, and he could be found passionately cheering for the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. Bob's love for football and baseball was a constant source of joy and excitement for those who shared in his passion.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Bette Kidd; 3 children, Steven (Janice) Kidd, Mark Kidd and Michelle (Walt) Tear; 5 grandchildren, Nikki (Alex) Rieffel, Sarah (Joe) Cox, Kelsey (Jordy) Sayers, Kayla (Vincent) Mortillaro and Amanda Tear; 5 great-grandchildren, Noah, Callie, Charlie, Sammy and Monroe; twin brother, Norbert Kidd; sister-in-law, Barb Kidd; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Kidd; 4 siblings, Lillian Kidd, Muriel McNicol, Edna Bissonette and Jerry Kidd.
