MORLEY-NEELEY, Dana Renee. – of Clio, age 44, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 2-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Dana was born October 21, 1970 in Flint, Michigan to the late William K. and Beverly A. (Church) Morley. She was a beloved daughter and was very gifted musically. Throughout her childhood, Dana was involved with vocal music; performing in several productions with the Clio Cast and Crew as well as the Clio High School Choir. Dana was trained in classical vocal music by the late Carolyn Mawby and Mary Nieuwenhuis. She graduated from Valley Lutheran High School in Saginaw, Michigan in 1988. She went on to perfect her music skills and at one time, performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. After high school, Dana continued to light up the world the best way she knew through her music. For years at many nightclubs she hosted karaoke under her stage name “Miss Dana Day”. Dana also performed as part of the Morley Family Singers with her father, mother and brother.
Dana met her future husband, Mitchell Neeley through their love of music while they were in junior high. They reunited in December of 2011 and were married on August 18, 2012 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. Dana and Mitchell, together with her children and family continued to perform in Praise of the Lord as part of their praise and worship teams as well as with nXt. She enjoyed summer barbeques with family and spending as much time as possible with her granddaughter. Dana was a devoted mother and wife. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Husband, Mitchell G. Neeley of Clio; Son, Austin L. Morley of Mt. Morris; Daughter, Alexxa R. Morley of Flint; Granddaughter, Samaria R. Bracy-Bradley of Flint; Step-daughters: Grace K. Neeley of Phoenix, AZ and Alexandra L. Neeley of Clio; Mother, Beverly A. Knoblock of Ft. Myers, FL; Brother, William Todd; Sisters in law: Alane Morley of Flushing, Crista (Jerome) Lowell of Mt. Morris; Brother in law, Daniel Neeley (partner Brian Bergey of Winter Park, FL; Nephews: Tyler Morley of Flushing, Tyler Anderson of Montrose; Special friend: Randy L. Boggs of Arlington, TX; many other loving family members and special friends. Dana was preceded in death by her son, Alec Morley and nephew, Zachary Morley.
