DICKERSON, MURL LEE – formerly of Hersey, MI, age 86, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his residence American House in Grand Blanc.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place with no service.
Murl was born in Bernie, Missouri on September 29, 1939, the son of the late Elzo and Opal (Stevens) Dickerson.
He was a 1958 graduate of Parma High School in Parma Missouri.
Murl moved to Michigan where he met and married his wife of 61 years, Patrica Evans, who proceeded him in death.
He entered the US Army in 1963, specializing in the Military Police in Hawaii. After service he and Pat relocated to Michigan, where he was employed by the state highway department.
Murl loved their home in the Muskegon River, being outdoors, raising great vegetable gardens, taking care of their dogs and cats.
Surviving are brother, Raymond Dickerson of Cape Girardeau, MO; sister, Kathy (Bill) Czykyski of Grand Blanc; nieces, Sheli Tannehill and partner Jason Allen, and Mandi (Matt) Fowler of Marietta, Ga. Also cherishing his memory great nephew, Rileigh Tannehill and great niece, Sophia DelPozo; brother-in-law Dan (Yvonne)Evans.
