The Beloved Wanda Maroun (Rainwater) passed away peacefully on December 4, 2017 with family by her side. Born in Campbell, Mo to Frank and Carrie Rainwater, Wanda made Flint her home since the age of 3 alongside siblings Violet, Earl, Dewey, Johntine (Tiny), Delbert and Patricia. Anchored by the Rainwater’s deep sense of family, love and humor, Wanda blossomed into a beautiful, talented, strong, spirited, vibrant and caring woman.

In 1947, she married Louis P. Maroun. Together they had six children; Robert, Anthony, Michael, Theresa, Julia, and Christopher. Above all, Wanda knew how to love. She deeply loved her family, and opened her heart to those who crossed her path. She leaves joyful memories of parties, picnics, vacations and holidays in the hearts of family and friends. To her family, she was a wonderful mother, sister, playmate, consoler, supporter and friend. Her humor was boundless, her mischievous giggle, contagious. She loved music, and whenever there was song, she harmonized and danced. She loved nature and cultivating flower gardens. She listened and spoke with her heart.

Over the years, Wanda worked as a secretary for St Pius X Catholic school, and McLaren Hospital. Volunteering throughout Flint was a way of life for Wanda, and she was a member of the Altar Society at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. She was truly grateful for her rich and full life. Despite her growing memory loss, Wanda joyfully lived and loved in the moment, teaching those who knew her, the value of doing just that. Her beautiful heart and sparkling blue eyes will be deeply missed.
