Left this life for her heavenly home on December 19, 2017 at the age of 86.
Funeral Services will be 1pm Friday December 22, 2017 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Reverend LaDonna Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm and Friday from 11am to 1pm.
She was born on May 21, 1931 in Union, Arkansas. The daughter of Oscar Burton and Bessie (Moore) Cochran. She attended Salem schools.
Margene was united in marriage to Amos Morris on September 6, 1947 in Union, Arkansas. They celebrated their 70th Anniversary this year with family and friends.
She graduated from Flint Beauty College and later opened Mar-Don Beauty Salon in Flint, Michigan. She was an avid reader and loved playing cards. Margene and Amos enjoyed traveling and together saw most of the United States and Canada but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family.
She was a member of Cornerstone Church of God in Owosso, Michigan.
Margene was preceded in death by both of her parents, her son Galin Morris; granddaughter Sherry Morris; one sister Melba Cochran; four brothers Jewel, Marshal, Harlan and Oscar Jr. Cochran.
She leaves to cherish her memory husband Amos; three daughters LaDonna (Randy) Stewart of Corunna; Marsha (Mike) Stewart of Lennon and Tammy (Ron) Cauthen of Ovid; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren; sister Christine (Boyce) Chestnut of Lee's Summit, Missouri; sister-in-law Ernestine Cochran of West Plains, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
