Robert “Bob” Myers of Linden, age 84, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at McLaren-Flint, surrounded by family and friends. Per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service was held at his daughter’s home. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 12–3 p.m. at Birch Run Speedway, 10945 Dixie Highway, Birch Run, MI 48415.
While his passing marks the end of a remarkable life, today we celebrate the journey he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.
Bob was born in Flint, MI, on April 25, 1941, to Bruce and Catherine Gosha Myers. He attended Clio High School. Bob married the love of his life, Anne, at their home on September 21, 2018. She was his biggest supporter and stood by his side throughout his many health battles.
In 1969, Bob became partners with Bernard “Brute” Dzido, and together they started 4 Seasons Asphalt. In 1985, Bob acquired Eastern Asphalt, which he owned and operated for the past 41 years. Bob lived life with purpose, grit, and heart. He built the business through determination, hands-on leadership, and an unwavering work ethic. Even through serious health challenges, including the loss of his leg, Bob continued to show up. To him, work was pride, responsibility, and a way to take care of people. Bob could fix just about anything and was never afraid of getting his hands dirty. When something was broken, he figured it out. When someone needed help, he made a call, showed up himself, or sent his guys to the rescue without hesitation. He held high expectations not to demand perfection, but because he believed in people and wanted them to be their best. Many sought his advice and valued the wisdom he shared from a life well lived.
He believed life was meant to be worked hard, enjoyed fully, and shared generously with others. Bob was a lifelong entrepreneur and, over the years, owned Racers Pub and Grub and Cut Rate Auto Parts. In his younger years, Bob spent many weekends racing at local stock car tracks. He loved rebuilding old cars, trucks, and hot rods, and he rarely missed Back to the Bricks in Flint or a NASCAR race. The sound of engines and classic cars were among his greatest passions. He also cherished lake life, cruising in his boat, tending to his flowers, and spending time outdoors.
One of Bob’s greatest joys was bringing people together. He was known for hosting Labor Day weekend gatherings, complete with live bands and a concert stage. He enjoyed creating traditions with family, friends, and employees. Bob had a rare ability to make everyone feel welcome, treating people like family.
Above all, Bob had a massive heart. He was full of grit and wholesomeness, respected by many and loved by all. His legacy lives on not only through the business he built, but through the lives he touched, the help he gave without hesitation, and the example he set of what it means to work hard, help others, and live life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Myers; son Todd Myers; daughter Terri (Jeff) Floyd; stepsons Anthony (Amanda) Fontana and William Fontana; stepdaughter Katie (Taylor) Hunt; mother-in-law Barbara Weatherhead; grandsons Benjamin (Meghan) Dzido and Jonathan Dzido; granddaughters Macenzie Myers and Morgan Myers; great-grandchildren Harrison and Lydia Dzido; longtime friend Guy Dzido; brother Arthur (Cathy) Myers; sisters-in-law Cathy Myers and Ruth Myers; and many nieces and nephews, along with extended family members, friends, and colleagues who will miss him deeply.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Frederick and Richard Myers; sister Elizabeth Phillpotts; and his favorite four-legged friend, Lady.
