David Wendell Young age 68 passed away peacefully at home April 25, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Please join us for the celebration of life because DWY said so. It will be May 16, 2026 2-6 pm at Owosso Township Hall 410 S Delaney Rd Owosso MI 48867. Lantern send off at 6 pm in the parking lot.
David was born March 19, 1958 the son of George and Minnie (Sutton) Young in Owosso.
David enjoyed coon hunting, fishing , spending time at the local carnival, NASCAR racing especially Dale Earnhardt, little Debbies, Coca Cola, and spending time with his family and friends playing cards.
He will be remembered for his handiness, jerryrigging things with duct tape and WD40, his collection of matchbox and hot wheel cars, his bargaining skills, and his love for Bob Ross.
His grandchildren will remember him most for his head nod he always did when he didn’t agree with what you were doing or saying but loved you anyways. Grandpa always had a story to tell. He knew what he believed and he didn’t let other’s opinions change him or his outlook on things.
Some of his families’ favorite moments with him are when we would stay the night at his house and play Twister while watching Woody Woodpecker and sliding down his recliner like a slide.
David is retired from his own workshop known as “Dave’s Fix it Shop”
David is survived by his daughters Amber (Steven) Cohen and Rashay Young (Leon Williams) grandchildren Kalob Young, Mollie Cohen (Lily Reed), Addison Cohen (Adam Labudde), Kennedy Young-Williams, and Kelsey Young-Williams brother Kenny Young and Roger Young many loving nieces and other friends and family members.
He was predeceased by his parents Minnie and George Young, sister Susan Wells, brother Frank Young, sister in-laws Connie Young, Juanita Young and Debra Sanderson nieces Shawn Young and Jessica Botimer and grandson baby Jacob Young-Williams.
