PERKINS, Shirley E. (Crawford) – Of Flint, age 90, died Friday, December 13, 2013.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held by her daughter and son-in-law in the spring.
Shirley was born in Flint, Michigan on May 1, 1923.
She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1941.
She married Robert (George) Perkins on April 17, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1992.
Shirley enjoyed gardening, dancing and was famous for her homemade meals, pies and desserts.
Surviving are daughter, Laura and husband Mike Sharon of Oscoda, who cared for her during the last four years, after her diagnosis with chronic kidney disease failure and cancer;
granddaughter, Christina (Dave) Bissonette;
three great-grandsons, Mark Fernandez,Jr.,
Casey Walker Bissonette and Brady Lynn Bissonette;
step-grandchildren, Candace (Jeff) Shuel;
one sister, Audrey Miles of Linden;
28 nieces and nephews; 42 great-nieces and nephews;
special friends, Mark Fernandez, Sr. and Mary Ann Lenhart and her four daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Verna Crawford; great-grandson, Charles Marshal Shuel; brothers, Nathaniel and Russell Crawford; sisters, Inga Perior, Ethelda Randall, Verna Hill and Geraldine Nottingham; brothers-in-law, Keith Hill, Ed Perior, Burt Nottingham and Link Randall; sisters-in-law, Chloe Crawford and Mabel Crawford.
