Jackson Leonard Bitterman, of Flushing, age 21, died Friday, October 16, 2020 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Cremation has taken place. Family is asking you to share memories of him in the online guest book below. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to Flushing Presbyterian Church.
Jackson was born on May 2, 1999 in Flint, Michigan to Chris and Dawn (Ewing) Bitterman. Jackson was an active member of the Flushing Community; Graduated from Children's Garden Daycare, Flushing Presbyterian Church (FPC) Sunday School, Central Elementary, FPC Youth Group, GCI Electrical Program, and Flushing High. Began an Electrician Apprenticeship the summer out of High School and was currently attending Oakland University in pursuit of an Electrical Engineering Degree. Relationships and conversations were his fuel. He connected with a far range of people, engaged all because all have something to offer. Loved ‘Merica, started the day with Sports Center, was an avid hunter (Uncle Wayne), outdoorsman, gardener, golfer, snowboarder, movie buff, and caregiver. Had a strong connection to Sweet’s Point, Detour Village (Grandparent’s Cabin) and Marquette (Uncle Mike), Michigan. Jackson Bitterman lived in FULL COLOR and all will miss the light he shared.
Jackson is survived by his parents, Chris and Dawn Bitterman; brother, Jon Bitterman; grandmother, June Bitterman; aunts, especially Diane who was there from beginning to end, uncles, cousins, best friends, Noah, Nick, Jarrett, and Joe. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard Bitterman, and Jack and Arlene Ewing, Uncles Craig and Gary.
