ARMOUR, Grete W. – Of Grand Blanc, age 91, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Argentine Care Center.
Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 5458 Fenton Road, Flint, Pastor Joel Stiff officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Visitation 12 p.m. Saturday at church until the time of the service.
Grete was born in Tonsberg, Norway on February 15, 1931, the daughter of the late William and Borghild (Matheson) Andersen.
She enjoyed her Pickle Ball Club at Grand Blanc Senior Center. She was an avid golfer and she loved to sing.
Mrs. Armour was employed by GM Pontiac, retiring after 28 years of service.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Anita Strand and Eva (Ford) Sutton;
2 grandchildren, Robert (McKall) Solwold and Alicia Haynes;
3 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Ella and Oaklyn;
1 sister, Berit Bernsten;
3 step-children, Bob (MaryLou) Armour, John (Maureen) Armour and Linda (John) Burleson;
several nieces, nephews and dear friend, Gunny.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Lennart Strand; second husband, William Armour; stepson, Jim Armour; 1 brother and 2 sisters.
