MOEN, Gale “Grandma”– of Lapeer, age 85, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at home. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Friday, March 12 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 N. Gale Rd, Davison, MI 48423. Pastor Thomas Saunders, Jr. will officiate with interment at Dawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 2 PM – 5 PM Thursday, March 11, 2021. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday at church.
Gale was born in Marquette, MI on November 4, 1935, daughter of the late Archie and Almeada (Roadabaugh) Connors. She married Raymond Moen on August 7, 1953. Gale trained and raced standard bred horses under Moen Stables, Inc. since the late 1970’s. She was inducted into the Michigan Horse Racing Hall of Fame. Gayle worked at AC as Labor Coordinator for more than 30 years.
Gale is survived by her son, Bruce; 5 grandchildren, Cei-anna, Lindsay and his son Taylor, Christopher, Tyler and Chayna; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty (Thomas) Saunders, Penny (Michael) Graham and Marvin Connors; and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by sons, Barry and Brad; husband, Raymond; siblings, June Harris, Mary Ellen Pringle and Raymond Connors.
