HOBSON, Myra J. – of Clio, age 82, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, December 2, 2016 at Bethany United Methodist Church – 353 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Pastor LuAnn Rourke Officiating. Private burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Thursday from 3-7PM and at the Church on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Foundation or American Diabetes Association.
Myra was born September 6, 1934 in Montrose, Michigan to the late Fred and Caroline (Barnum) Cline Sr. She graduated from Montrose High School in 1951. Myra married Howard C. Hobson Jr., September 25, 1950. He preceded her in death November 2, 1999. She later married Dennis E. Bellinger on May 24, 2008. He preceded her in death March 31, 2012. Myra served as the Thetford Township Clerk from 1982 until retiring in 2006. She was a charter member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Myra was also a member of the Gladwin VFW Post #11256 Ladies Auxiliary and the Lions Club. She enjoyed bowling, euchre, embroidery, knitting, crocheting and reading. Myra loved spending time at Higgins Lake, the beautiful U.P. – especially Copper Harbor and watching sunsets over Lake Superior.
Surviving are: Children: Chum (Deb) Hobson of Jamestown, LaRee (Orin) Comdure of Lowell, LaVar Hobson of Las Vegas, and Vanessa Hobson of Northville; 12 grandchildren: Heather (Kelly) McDonald, Brooks (Katie) Hobson, Katie Hobson (fiancé Bryce Oosterhouse), Jenna Hobson (Tom Stern), Jason Lee, Michelle (Joel) Hughes, Chad Morrison, Dauston Hobson, Zared Stankiewicz, Keegan Stankiewicz, Lucas Courtney and Braeden Courtney; 12 great grandchildren; Brother, Fred D. (Ila Jean) Cline Jr., of Montrose; Special friend, Ali Sears; Myra was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Veronica Jean Hobson in 1967.
