DERMINER, RICHARD L.- Of Flint, age 67, died Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at The Pines of Burton Memory Care.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday October 29, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.
Visitation will be held at 11am Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or the Genesee County Humane Society.
Rick was born in Flint on October 25, 1957, the son of the late Richard and Vivian DerMiner.
Rick married Terresa Jones on July 6, 2000.
He graduated from Bendle High School. Rick was quite the jokester who enjoyed camping, flying kites, listening to music, riding his golf cart, traveling to the casino and spending time with his family. Rick enjoyed actively volunteering for various organizations and giving back to the community.
Rick was a member of UAW 598. He retired from General Motors Truck and Bus after 46 years of service. He also volunteered at the Burton Fire Department for 26 years, retiring as Battalion Chief.
Surviving are his wife, Terresa; 3 children, Jennifer DerMiner, Danielle (Anderson) Pettigrew and Megan Jones; 2 grandchildren, Zoey and Diezel Pettigrew; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Deb.
