NIELSON, Alice – of Flint, age 90, died Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Hampton Manor in Montrose. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no service at this time.
Alice was born December 4, 1935, in Pontiac, to the late Merle and Mabel (Chaffee) Pyne. She attended Northern High school before graduating from Fenton High School and worked at Joyce Elaine’s Beauty Salon as a hairdresser for 15 years until her retirement in 1985. On July 14, 1962, she married the love of her life, Gerald Nielson, and together they shared 46 years of marriage before Gerald preceded her in death in 2008. Alice had a talent for needlework and enjoyed spending time putting together jigsaw puzzles. Above all, she loved raising her beloved grandchildren and cheering them on at their sporting events. Alice was a wonderful woman who can never be replaced, and she will be dearly missed.
Surviving are: Sister, Marlene Lintz; Grandchildren: Travis Broom, Leah Broom, and Trevor Adams; Great Grandson, Liam Adams; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Alice was preceded in death by: Husband, Gerald; Son, Glenn Broom; Grandson, Tyler Adams; Parents, Merle and Mabel; Siblings: Merlin, Robert, Billie, Joyce, and Mildred. |
