ZAMORA, Evie “Jewell” – of Davison, Michigan, age 78, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 5 PM Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI, 48423; Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 12 PM until the time of the service on Thursday.
Jewell was born in Haleyville, AL on June 19, 1947, daughter of the late Calvin and Ruth (Isom) Riddle. She graduated from Flushing High School in 1966. Jewell met the love of her life, Carlos Zamora, in 1986 and they were united in marriage on November 22, 1995. She retired from GM in 2002, after many years of service. Jewell loved working in her flower garden, traveling up north (just to have Carlos haul home large rocks – some weighing more than Carlos), going to the casino, but most of all, she loved her family. She would go to the ends of the earth to make sure the ones she loved were taken care of and happy. Jewell was loyal to a fault and had the biggest heart. She loved babysitting her granddog, Lilly, and would have her Carl Budding lunchmeat ready every morning. Jewell loved that she and Carlos were “adopted” by the Schumacher and Bruce extended families. Especially enjoyed being a part of every holiday and occasion, where she had the opportunity to bring her famous and very delicious carrot cake.
Jewell is survived by her loving husband, Carlos; daughters, Kim (Bill) Taylor and Janell (Chris) Schumacher; grandchildren, Trent Schumacher, Taylor (Logan) Richards, Wayne Durance, Kristen Durance and Kaitlyn Taylor; great-grandchild, Malachi; sister, Rosa Perkins; extended families, The Bruce Family and The Schumacher Family; granddogs, Lilly and Blue. She was preceded in death by brothers, James Riddle and Michael Riddle.
