PARLBERG, Marjorie Ann – of Birch Run, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. She was 78 years of age.
Marjorie was born March 24, 1935 in Flint to the late Orben and Alice (Brown) Parlberg, having lived in Birch Run since 1955. She married Raymond Parlberg on January 15, 1955. Marjorie was a member of St Martin Lutheran Church, volunteered at the Saginaw Valley Blood Program and an activity instructor at the Holiday Travel Resort in Leesburg, FL. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and Bingo.
Surviving are: husband, Raymond; children, Karen (nee May)(Thomas) Basner of Birch Run, Victoria (Terrel) Hart of Frankenmuth, Marianne (Scott) Nelson of Birch Run, Barbara (Sean) Kearns of St. Petersburg, FL, Kenneth (Kay) Parlberg of Birch Run, Patrick (Lisa) Parlberg of Birch Run; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; siblings, Harry Shaw of Davison, James (Carol) Shaw of Burton, Eugene Shaw of Burton, Betty Dzickzek of Burton; brother-in-law, Alfred Kietzman of Clio; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: brother, Stanley Shaw; and sisters, Ila Kopiwoda, Ada Shaw, Viola Harris, Geraldine Kietzman; first husband, Donald May.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30AM at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Birch Run on Saturday, December 14, 2013. Pastor James Chinery officiating. Burial in Birch Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Thursday from 5-8PM and Friday from 11AM-8PM. Contributions may be made to St. Martin Lutheran Church.
