Patricia A. Root age 83 of Corunna, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at McLaren Flint Hospital. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church of Durand. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta will be officiating. Burial will follow to Great Lakes National Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel from 5-8 PM with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 PM. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Patricia Ann Brancheau was born January 28, 1940 in Davison, a daughter of Willard and Bertha (Stopka) Brancheau. On March 16, 1985 she married Donald Patrick Root. Patricia enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing cards, BINGO, traveling and being outdoors. Prior to her retirement she had worked for General Motors for 28 years.
Patricia is survived by her children, Don (Kathy)Bair, Christy (Bill) Elder, William (Debbie) Bair, Joe (Anne) Root, Kathy (Glen) Frundel, Don (Julie) Root, Nancy (Rick) Pinter, Bob (Theresa) Root, Tom (Donna) Root, Bridgette (Gary) Nequist, Larry (Julie) Root, Bryan (Becky) Root, Charles (Beth) Root, and Christopher (Diana) Root; 55 grandchildren; 75 great grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Carol) Brancheau; sisters, Deona (Jack) Holmes and Brenda Legel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Root; daughter, Patricia Root; grandson, Tyler Root; and brother, Ron Brancheau.
