RESEIGH, George H. – Of Flint Township, age 89, passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 14, 2018.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2018 at Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 West Court Street, Flint, Reverend Jeremy Peters officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Court Street United Methodist Church.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Reseigh will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service.
George was born in Highland Park, Michigan on October 8, 1928, the son of the late John and Florence (nee Pender) Reseigh.
He served in the U.S. Army in the 2nd Armored Division and was a proud vet.
When George returned from the U.S. Army he married his “forever sweetheart”, Betty Cavin on March 14, 1953 in Highland Park at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
He was President of the United Methodist Men at Court Street United Methodist Church for 18 years and was an active member.
He was an avid golfer, played AA fast pitch softball for Flint and bowled every Wednesday night and was a U of M fan.
Mr. Reseigh retired from GM Parts Division in Swartz Creek.
Surviving are children, Douglas Reseigh and Barbara (Dennis) Bennett;
grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick) Buchanan, Bradley (Emily Crossnoe) Reseigh, Scott (Amanda) Bennett;
great-grandchildren, Braylen Buchanan, Nora Jane Buchanan, Travis Reseigh, Tyler Reseigh, Tanner Reseigh and Jaxson Bennett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; grandson, Alan Reseigh;
brothers, Sidney, William and Douglas.
