Jo was born on March 18, 1941, to the late Jerry and Mary (Hnevsa) Ivan. She graduated from New Lothrop High School with the Class of 1959.

Jo worked at Universal Electric for 18 years, where she met the love of her life, Don Scollon. The couple was united in marriage on April 12, 1969, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. This April, they would have celebrated 57 years of devoted marriage.

Jo had a nurturing spirit and devoted many years to caring for children— a role she truly cherished. Her kids lovingly called her “Jojo” a nickname she wore with pride and joy. She loved playing bingo and was a dedicated member of a bowling league for over 50 years. Jo also had a deep love for polka music and enjoyed attending polka festivals whenever she could.

She was a proud member of TOPS MI 1460 of New Lothrop, ZCBJ Lodge 242 in Owosso—where she generously cooked for weddings for many years—and was a current member of Lodge 225 in Banister. Jo was especially proud of her Czech heritage and expressed that pride through treasured traditions, particularly baking kolache and rohliky at Christmastime for family and friends.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Jo found immense joy in supporting her children and grandchildren at their high school and college sporting events. She was also a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister.

Jo will be remembered for her warmth, dedication to family, strong faith, and the love she shared so generously with everyone around her.

Jo is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Don; her three cherished children, Josette (Trent) Wendling, Jeff (Meghan) Scollon, and Jennifer Scollon; and her incredible grandchildren, Kailey and Madison Wendling, and Nolan Scollon.

She is also survived by her brothers, Jerry (Jackie) Ivan and Chuck Ivan of Jacksonville, Florida; her sister, Betty (Dan) Hovanec of Remus, Michigan; her brothers-in-law, Clarence Scollon of Morrisville, North Carolina, and Bob Scollon of Grand Rapids, Michigan; along with several nieces, nephews, special friends, and loving neighbors. Jo also leaves behind her beloved Shih Tzu, Rosie, who brought her much joy and companionship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Mary Ivan; her sisters-in-law, Debbie Ivan, Marguerite (Matt) Trierweiler, Marcia Scollon, and Peggy Scollon.
