BARD, Wayne Lewis. – of Mt. Morris, age 83, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3PM Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Gary Currell of Heather Creek Church officiating. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8PM and on Wednesday from 12PM until the time of service at 3PM. Burial will be at 10AM Thursday, October 1, 2015 in Great Lakes National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Flint American Legion Post #64 or Bentley Wesleyan Church.
Wayne was born January 1, 1932 in Mt. Morris to the late Lewis A. and Merodine (Beach) Bard. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School. Wayne married Colleen Sawade August 25, 1951 in Bentley Wesleyan Church. Mr. Bard served in the United States Naval and Army Reserve and is also a U.S. Army Veteran. Wayne retired from AC in 1987 with over 38 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local # 651. He was also a member of the Flint American Legion Post # 64. Wayne enjoyed building model airplanes, bowling, golfing, deer hunting and sports – especially softball. He was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan.
Surviving are: Wife, Colleen Bard of Mt. Morris; 5 daughters: Janine (Larry) Cool of Flint, Deborah (Nathan) Beardsley of Grand Blanc, Jacalyn Miller of West Virginia, Deanna Bard of Flint and Wendy (Jim) Vaughn of Brighton; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Ralph (Phyllis) Bard, Gordon (Barbara) Bard and Jerry Matheson. Wayne was preceded in death by his great grandson, Mason; Sisters: Joyce and Judy Ann and brother, Herbert.
