WEIS, Jean (Marshall) - Of Grand Blanc, died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at her residence.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:30a.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
Rabbi Karen Companez officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Genesee County Humane Society. Born and raised in London, England, Jean was the daughter of the late James and Stella Marshall. After completing her education in London, she met Master Sergeant Alan Weis at a USO dance and they were married on March 11, 1943. After the war, Jean and their daughter, Carole, immigrated to the United States aboard the Queen Mary. She loved her pets, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She worked in Flint area jewelry stores for many years including Max Davis Jewelers, Irvin Hirsh Jewelers, Flint Wholesale Jewelers, and the Diamond Factory. Surviving are daughter, Carol Pappas of Grand Blanc; Nieces and nephews, Charles and wife Maxine Silverman of San Jose, CA, Charles and wife Louise Chatlynne of Montgomery Village, MD, Cheryl Vogel of San Diego, CA, Richard Weis of Columbus, OH;
Great nieces and great nephews; Dear friends, Don and wife Martha Kinder. She was preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband Alan Weis in 1987.
