COX, Delliah Z. “Dolly” – of Grand Blanc formerly of Montrose, age 98, went home to be with her Lord, peacefully with her family by her side, Friday January 15, 2021 at her daughter’s residence. A private graveside service for family will be held at Montrose Twp. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to Montrose Baptist Church, American Cancer Society, or your favorite charity.
Dolly was born March 2, 1922 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late Robert and Lessie (Cameron) Foutch. She lived in Wolverine, Montrose and for the past 20 years in Grand Blanc. On May 3, 1980 she married Junior “Gordon” Cox in Lake Fenton, Michigan and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1994. She was a devoted worker for Genesee County Juvenile Home in Flint where she was a cook for 16 years, retiring in 1982. She attended Westside Church in Flushing and later became a member of the Montrose Baptist Church. Dolly liked arts & crafts, enjoying sewing, cooking, and making crystal necklaces. She also loved going to the Loose Senior Citizens Center in Linden and crocheting hats for babies, the homeless or anyone in need. She loved her family and the time she was able to spend with them.
Surviving are: Children: Dorris Burrows of Grand Blanc, Georgia Speck of Grand Blanc, Virginia Beaton of Florida, Timothy Hammon of Swartz Creek, and Robin Rivard of Davison; Grandchildren: Teresa (Michael) Dore, Stephen (Lisa Ritlaw) Burrows, Lisa Starnes, Lanette
Langer, Tina (Marty) Wolf, Melanie (Jimmy) Millsaps, Christopher Beaton, Adam Hammon, Heather Goddard, and Erica (Avery Masters Jones) Rivard; Great Grandchildren: Breanna “Bre” Burrows, Coby Dore, Elijah Dore, Larry Starnes, Chad Starnes, Derrick Starnes, Jacob Starnes, Austin Webster, Tanner Webster, River “Dalton” Webster, Sarah Langer, Hailey Langer, Skylar Langer, Kalyn Petriella, Nicky Petriella, Joey Petriella, Timothy (Lauren) Beaton, Emily Beaton, Connor Beaton, Coen Wolf, Zachary Hammon, and one on the way; Great Great Grandchildren: Jasmin Starnes, Derrick Starnes, Easton Starnes, Maxton Starnes, Owen Webster, Azura Langer, Charlotte Beaton, and two on the way; Sister in Law Marie Foutch and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Husband: Junior “Gordon” Cox; Parents: Robert and Lessie Foutch; Grandsons: Robert Burrows, Larry “Miller” Webster Jr.; Siblings: Virginia Drope, Juanita Walls, and Virgil “Buddy” Foutch; Son in Law: Fred Speck.
