BOWLSBY, DOROTHY MARIE- Of Flint, age 100, peacefully passed away to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Georges Bidzogo officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-8pm on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed at 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Dorothy will be at the church from 10am Tuesday till the time of the mass.
Those desiring may make donations to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church or St. Thomas More Academy.
Dorothy was born in Elsie, Michigan on February 8, 1925. She is the daughter of Agnes Marie Walworth and the lone survivor of her 7 siblings.
She was preceded in death by her second husband of 32 years, Karl W. Bowlsby of Whittemore, Michigan, her first husband and father of her five children Rex Wetherell and her son-in-law Wayne Christner.
Dorothy’s greatest joy was being surrounded by all of her loving family. She was a devoted mother to her 5 children. Rodney (Jan) Wetherell, Judy Christner, Madeline (Mark) Martin, Roxanne Warner and Larry (Connie) Wetherell.
She was a cherished grandmother to her 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter.
Dorothy attributed her longevity in her life to her Faith in God, staying active with walks and exercise, and having very supportive family with lots of love.
She had a strong catholic faith and was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She loved playing cards and was a very competitive Euchre player almost every Sunday. Dorothy enjoyed playing bingo and was great at puzzles and enjoyed her friends at the assisted living home. She was very special and will be deeply missed.
