GREEN, Betty Ann – Of Flint, age 83, died Saturday, August 27, 2011
at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Shawn Baptist Church, 2493 North Genesee Road, Burton, Pastor Raymond Cocke officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation 12 -8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home,1 225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Green will be at the church from 12 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service. Mrs. Green was born in Joplin, Missouri on June 30, 1928 and was a resident of Flint for many years. Betty graduated from Joplin High School.
She was a member of Shawn Baptist Church and was involved in the National Baptist Choir. Betty was a member of the Quilting Club and won many awards.
She enjoyed painting, sewing and quilting. Surviving are four children, Denny (Maria) of Yellville, Arkansas, Aarron (Jewel) of Durand, Rebecca Cruz of California and John of Flint; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Betty and her late husband, Reverend Denzil Green were foster parents to 11 children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Denzil Green and daughter, Caprecia Green.
