Kennard Elmo Dysinger, age 83 of Perry, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Memorial Healthcare Center in Owosso. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Perry Chapel. Rev. Ray Sundell will be officiating with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Perry. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
Kennard was born on May 19, 1928 in Milan, MI the son of Floyd Everett and Adelaide Hennrietta (Schrader) Dysinger. He attended Lincoln Consolidated High School, graduating in 1946 and also attended Extension Courses in Shiawassee County. While in High School, Kennard played baseball, basketball and track and later played on the Perry area Independent Baseball and Basketball Teams. He served in the Central Michigan National Guard and Civil Air Patrol.

Kennard married Gae Ann Pauls on October 2, 1954 in Perry and together raised 3 children. Mr. Dysinger was a Dairy and Crop Farmer all of his life. He enjoyed the guitar and mandolin, playing softball with his church team, deer hunting and was active with the Perry-Shaftsburg Jamboree. He was the Director and Chairperson with the Shiawassee Conservation District, past Director with the Lansing Production Credit Association, past member of the Michigan Milk Association, Treasurer and Chairperson with the Perry United Methodist Church, Lay Leader of the Shaftsburg United Methodist Church. He was a Sunday School Teacher, a Township Planning Commission Member and a member of ASCS for 32 years. He was on the board of Production Credit Association for 15 years, an officer on the Junior Farm Bureau, a member of the Gleaners and also a member of Odd Fellows in Perry.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gae Ann; 2 sons: Kennard John Dysinger of Perry, David Benjamin (Jeannie Marie) Dysinger of Perry; daughter, DeAnn (Russell) Sambrook of Dearborn Heights; 4 grandchildren: Dustin Coty Sambrook, Chelsea Ann Sambrook, Anna Marie Dysinger and Sarah Ruth Dysinger; 2 great grandchildren: Jake and Emily Winder; 2 brothers: Duane David (Loyola) Dysinger of Perry, Eldon Everett (Mary) Dysinger of Farmington Hills.
