STIMAC, Joseph P – of Flint, age 80, passed away on March 21, 2018 at Melody Care Home-Pines. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 12 PM Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Burial will be in Tanner Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM Monday and 10 AM until the time of service on Tuesday. There will be a Rosary prayed at 6 PM on Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the perpetual care for the Tanner Cemetery in Flint, MI.
Joseph was born in Flint, MI on October 29, 1937, son of the late Joseph J. and Mabel (Turnbull) Stimac, Sr. He worked at Flint Metal Fabricating, retiring in 2007 with 45 years of service as a Die Maker. He was a member of the UAW Local # 659. Joseph graduated in 1955 from Sacred Heart High School. He was a lifelong member of the Croatian Fraternal Union and was the Lodge # 561 President for many years. Joseph always looked forward to his yearly trip to deer camp in the Upper Peninsula at the “Homestead” in Munising, Michigan and his yearly trips to Cancun, Mexico where he spent many months in retirement.
Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph J. III, Deborah, Lori (Daryl) Saultman, David (DeeLinda), Michael, Matthew (Tiffany), Sarah, Candy Flowers, Chad (Christine) Rivette and Nicole Rivette; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; beloved nephews, Anthony, Leslie, Ernest and Curtis Stimac, who were always willing to help their uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mabel; brothers, Anthony and Roy; daughter, Germaine (Mimi) Stimac.
