MCGEE, William “Billy” – Of Burton, age 66, died Monday, November 30, 2020 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
William was born on September 16, 1954 in Flint, Michigan the son of Dorothy (Buesching) and Bob McGee.
He had three siblings, Dick, Kenny and Becki;
At an early age of 16, his mom became ill and lost a fight to illness. Much later, his father, married Donna McGee, whom also had two children, Karen (Miller) and Steve Erickson.
In 1980, he met Sharon McGee, fell in love, loved with, and married her on November 18, 1994.
Sharon had a son, Joey, who he considered his son and whom he loved deeply.
He graduated from Southwestern High School, where he played sports. Basketball was his favorite. He developed many lifelong friendships that continued to present day.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War.
Trained in Tennessee and was stationed in San Diego, California from 1973- 1975.
Billy had many employers throughout his life, Grand Blanc Shell, Flint City Towing, Metamora Products and Hollingsworth Trucking.
His favorite pastimes were watching NASCAR, football, gambling and fireworks.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition on November 5, 2020 with Covid-19. After a painful and enduring struggle he died November 30, 2020.
He has plenty of family left behind; his wife, Sharon McGee;
step-son, Joe Kiras;
siblings, Ken (Patsy) McGee and Becki (Millard) Hubbard;
step-sister, Karen Miller;
step-brother, Steve Erickson;
step-mom, Donna McGee;
uncle and aunts, Melvin and Rita McGee and Carol Lampin;
nieces, Jessee Hubbard Batey, Angie Mackie-Smith, Michelle (Brad) Smith Kelly Drzewicki and Tammy Hypes;
nephews, Randy Johnson, Jeff Estep, Greg Mims, Mike Mims, Terry Hypes and Jason Hypes, Scott Mimms Jr. And Justin Kinder;
grandchildren, Tabitha Kiras-Trenten, Dominique Jones and her brother, Derrick, whom we have loved as our grandchild all of his life;
in-laws, Patsy (Ken) McGee, Jane McGee, Buffee (Becki) Hubbard, Betty Mims, Marketa Hypes, Scottie Mims and Lisa Pellens;
many cousins;
special friends, Rod Doyle, Rich Youmans, Walt Glentz, Walt Glentz Jr. and Lin Mendoza;
special neighbors, Gary and DeeDee Cronenvhet, who are always there to support us, during bad weather and many needs, we may have…thank you!
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Buesching; father, Robert McGee; brother, Dick McGee and sister-in-law, Linda Ziegler (Sharon’s sister).
