SOCHOR, Mary Ann - Of Linden, age 78, passed peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer Friday, March 9, 2018.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide Street, Fenton.

Father Todd Koenigsknecht and Father Douglas Osborn co-celebrating.

Private burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to The Companion Dog Training Club of Flint or Adopt-A-Pet in Fenton.

Visitation 5-7pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed at 7pm Monday evening (following the visitation) at the funeral home. Additional visitation 10am Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass.

Mary Ann was born in Flint on August 16, 1939, the daughter of the late Malcolm and Lenore MacLean. She graduated from St. John Vianney High School, Cum Laude, Class of 1957. After high school, Mary Ann worked for Chevrolet’s main office in Flint as an Administrative Assistant. On August 25, 1962, Mary Ann married Robert Frank Sochor. Mary Ann was the owner of The Mole Hole gift shop from 1980-1990. Mary Ann loved dogs and competitive dog shows. She was one of the founding members of The Companion Dog Training Club of Flint, where she was a member for 50 years and was also secretary of the club for several years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed interior decorating, and was an accomplished seamstress. One of her specialties was gift wrapping and holiday parties. She was an English language tutor for youth, a church volunteer for St. John’s Carnival and church dinners, and a Board Member of her Homeowner’s Association.

Surviving are husband, Robert;

children, Patricia (Brian) Arnold, Kristin Shick, Mark (Sara) Sochor, Rebecca (Raja) Singh, and Kerri (Claus) Roggensack;
grandchildren, Andreas, Keenan, Trevor, MacLean, Braedon, Harrison, Madeleine, Tyler, Megan, Alina, Clara, Mia, Sisi, and Lenie;

brother, Malcolm (Sue) MacLean;

and sister-in-law, Carole Krellwitz.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Douglas and James MacLean.
