COLLINS, Bill Sr. – of Burton, formerly of Clio, age 87, died Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Hampton Manor of Burton. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Thetford Cemetery to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 11AM until 8PM and Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family for future designation.
Bill was born August 9, 1937, in Kentucky, where he was raised by his loving parents. He honorably served in the United States Navy and retired out of General Motors after nearly 30 years of employment. On June 7, 1958, he married his beloved wife, Shirley Mercer, and together they shared 61 years of marriage. Shirley preceded him in death on June 27, 2019. Bill enjoyed racing horses in his younger years and playing the slot machines at the casino. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend who will be missed.
Bill is forever remembered by: Children: Bill (Carol) Collins and Roger Collins; Grandchildren: Billy Joe Collins, Billy Kroncright, Bryan Collins, Brandon (Alexis) Collins, Dallen Collins, and Amellia Vasquez-Collins; 6 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister, Norma; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. Bill was preceded in death by: Wife, Shirley Collins; Son, Michael Collins; Parents; Several Brothers and Sisters. |
